Daniel Camardo is President of Immedica Pharma US, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Swedish biopharmaceutical company Immedica Pharma AB, which focuses on the commercialization of therapies for rare and specialty diseases. In this role, he established and scaled the company's U.S. operations following Immedica's acquisition of Marinus Pharmaceuticals in December 2024. Today, Immedica Pharma US commercializes two approved rare disease therapies: Ztalmy® (ganaxolone) for the treatment of CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD) and Loargys® (pegzilarginase-nbln) for the treatment of Arginase 1 Deficiency (ARG1-D).
Prior to joining Immedica, Daniel served as Chief Executive Officer of Athersys, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing innovative cell therapies for neurological, inflammatory and cardiovascular diseases. Before Athersys, Daniel held several senior commercial leadership positions at Horizon Therapeutics, including Executive Vice President and President of the U.S. business. He played a key role in the company's transformation into a leading global biotechnology organization, culminating in its acquisition by Amgen in 2023. Earlier in his career, Daniel held multiple commercial leadership roles at Astellas Pharma, where he contributed to the company's early growth in the United States and supported the successful launch of more than 15 therapies across a broad range of therapeutic areas. In addition to his industry leadership, Daniel serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He holds degrees in Economics and Mathematics, as well as an MBA from Kellogg.
