Anna Engstrom was born and raised outside of Stockholm in Taby, Sweden. In 1997 she graduated with a master's of social science in business from Stockholm University. After completing her degree she started her career with Svenska Handelsbanken (SHB) in Stockholm working as a business systems manager with equities trading back office clearing. In 2000 she moved to SHB's office in Frankfurt, Germany, where she was responsible for the bank's Cash Management Service. In 2004 Anna was hired by SHB's New York office to run the bank's US Cash Management Service. Her responsibility as the Vice President of Cash Management included product development, vendor (internal and external) negotiations, marketing and sales, and profitability management. During her five years with SHB in New York she added to her Cash Management responsibilities and worked in Account Management overseeing accounts for several International Swedish companies as well as US multinationals. Late in 2008 she moved with her husband to Chicago, where her son was born in March 2009. Anna Engstrom currently serves as the Treasurer of SWEA Chicago and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP, a certification issued by the Association for Financial Professionals).
