Claes Warnander: Claes was born (June 1943) and raised in Stockholm. After university studies in Sweden (Jur.Kand. and Civilekonom), he was granted a Fulbright scholarship and took a M.Sc. at Stanford. The business career started with Alfa Laval, first at the HQ in Stockholm; then 7 years in Denmark, the last 4 years of which as president of Alfa Laval Separation A/S; then 5 years in Brazil as President of Alfa Laval Brazil; then finally back to Sweden as President of the global Separation Division. In 1988 Claes was recruited to Haldex AB as President and CEO. Haldex, listed on the stock exchange in Sweden, supplies proprietary systems and products to the global vehicle industry (truck brake systems; 4WD systems to cars; Hydraulic systems to construction equipment and special engine components). After passing the age of 62 and 17 years as CEO it was time for a succession and in that connection Claes moved to China for 3 years to build up Haldex business there. After reaching 65, Claes retired from Haldex and moved to Chicago (Claes wife, Rebecca, is American). Claes is now busy with board engagements: Baldwin Technologies in Shelton/Connecticut (automation equipment for printing presses); Chairman of Gienow in Canada/Calgary (windows and doors); Chairman of Clean Oil Technology in Chicago (engine oil cleaning systems).
